Hadeda Havoc is a one-tap arcade game made in South Africa. The short version: the game collects nothing about you and has no accounts. The website collects an email address in exactly one place - if you choose to join the Android launch waitlist - and nowhere else. We never sell or share your data.
This policy covers two separate things. Please read them as separate:
- A. The game you install on your phone.
- B. This website, hadedahavoc.com, and the Android waitlist.
A. The game
The installed game collects no personal information at all. No sign-up, no login, no profiles, no accounts, no email address, and no personal information (no name, phone number, contacts, photos, or location). There is no advertising, and there are no analytics or tracking SDKs. Joining the Android waitlist on this website changes nothing about the game - the game never sees your email address and there is no link between the two.
B. This website and the Android waitlist
Browsing hadedahavoc.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
While Hadeda Havoc is not yet available on Google Play, the website offers an Android launch waitlist. If, and only if, you choose to submit the form:
- What we collect: your email address, the date and time you signed up, which version of the consent wording you agreed to, and basic campaign attribution (which page or link you came from, such as a TikTok campaign tag). That is all.
- What we do NOT collect: no name, no phone number, no account, no password, no date of birth, no location. We do not store your IP address, your full browser user agent, or any fingerprinting or advertising identifier.
- Why: to send you one email, once, when Hadeda Havoc becomes available on Google Play. That is the entire purpose, and it is the only reason we ask.
- Your consent: is given explicitly by submitting the form, and covers that single launch email only. You are not added to any ongoing mailing list, and we will not send you other Burton Labs marketing. If we ever wanted to do that, we would have to ask you separately.
- Where it is stored: in a Cloudflare D1 database in Cloudflare's European region, operated by us. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Sending the email: the launch email is delivered by our email provider acting on our instructions. Your address is used for that delivery and nothing else.
- No sale, no ads: we do not sell, rent or share your address, and we do not use it for advertising or ad targeting.
Unsubscribing and getting your data removed
Every waitlist email contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off the list immediately - you will not receive the launch email. You can also email support@burton-labs.com at any time to unsubscribe, ask what we hold about you, or have your record deleted outright.
How long we keep it
This is a one-time list and we delete it. Waitlist records are deleted within 90 days of the Android launch email being sent. If you unsubscribe before then, your record is deleted in the same cleanup. We do not keep the list indefinitely and we do not reuse it for anything else.
Your rights
Under South Africa's POPIA (and the GDPR if you are in the EU/UK) you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email support@burton-labs.com and we will action it. The responsible party is Burton Labs.
Information stored on your device
The game saves a small amount of data locally on your device only - your best score, screech-saves count, and settings (sound, haptics, scene, skin). This never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall. You can clear your best score any time in Settings → Reset best score.
Information processed automatically
- App updates via Expo's over-the-air service: when checking for an update, Expo's servers may receive standard technical info (device type, OS version, IP) to deliver the right update. Handled by Expo, not stored by us, not used to identify you. See Expo's privacy policy.
- Platform diagnostics: if you allow it, Apple or Google may share anonymous crash/performance data with the developer. No information that identifies you.
What we do NOT do
- No collection or storage of personal information.
- No advertising or third-party ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No access to your microphone, camera, contacts, photos or location.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your data.
Audio credit
The hadeda call in the game is a wildlife recording under a Creative Commons licence; see the in-game Settings → Credits for attribution.
Children's privacy
Hadeda Havoc is family-friendly and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If we later add in-app purchases, advertising or analytics, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date before those features go live.
